Hemorrhoidectomy

Hemorrhoidectomy is a surgical procedure to remove hemorrhoids, which are swollen and enlarged veins in the rectum and anus. The procedure is typically recommended when hemorrhoids cause significant symptoms, such as: Pain, Bleeding, Protrusion, and Infection.

There are several different types of hemorrhoidectomy, including:

  • Open hemorrhoidectomy: The hemorrhoids are cut away and the wound is left open to heal.

  • Closed hemorrhoidectomy: The hemorrhoids are cut away and the wound is closed with stitches.

Recovery time varies depending on the type of surgery and the individual patient. Most patients can resume their normal activities within a few weeks.

* Results may vary from person to person.
